Marieta Landkroon is a fine art photographer and filmmaker based in Ruurlo, the Netherlands. Her work explores what blooms, fades, and remains. Characterized by a painterly and often mystical atmosphere, her images bring together philosophical, dark, and emotional themes. 

Drawing from film, fine art, and philosophy, Landkroon creates evocative images that balance aesthetic sensitivity with conceptual depth. Her visual language is rooted in her background in film theory and her Master’s degree in Film Studies, through which she developed a cinematic approach to photography with a strong focus on atmosphere, symbolism, and emotional layering. 

Her work has received international recognition, including Honorable Mentions at the Moscow International Foto Awards and the International Photography Awards, as well as awards at the Hollywood Women’s Film Festival and The Monthly Film Festival. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at Museum MORE and Art-Icon Paris. 

Landkroon is currently working on the long-term series Between Shadow and Spotlight, an exploration of artists and the life behind the spotlight. Her completed series Between Here and Evermore explores child loss, memory, absence, and connection. Across her work, Landkroon examines vulnerability, resilience, and the complexity of the human experience.
