Nigeria
I am Babajide Olusanya, an artist based in Nigeria. My work explores storytelling through photography, documenting lived experiences, cultural identity, and everyday human moments. I enjoy capturing emotions and the relationship between people and other people and their environment, allowing spontaneity and observation to guide my process. Working in both color and black and white depending on the scene and its story to reflect themes of memory, spirituality, and belonging. Rather than constructing scenes, I like to capture reality as it poses, creating photographs that open up a visual conversation between subject and viewer. My practice preaches fluidity, viewing each body of work as a reflection of passing phases, personal encounters, and observation.
