Henry Okwubuasi
Nigeria
My name is Henry Okwubuasi, a nigerian artist based in Lagos, Nigeria.
My odyssey through life led me to the realm of skating, a journey that commenced around the year 2018. As the pages of time turned, 2021 emerged as a significant chapter when I donned the mantle of a professional skater, gaining recognition within the illustrious domain of WAF.
Yet, my story unfurls not merely through the wheels of a skateboard, but also within the vivid frames of art and photography. In the early tendrils of 2020, I embraced these creative mediums, allowing them to intertwine with the trajectory of my existence. The canvas and the camera soon became extensions of my being, mediums through which I could encapsulate the ethereal essence of moments and emotions.
My artistic ventures are intrinsically woven with the fibers of my immediate environment. The streets I traverse, the faces I encounter, and the subtle nuances of the urban landscape serve as the tapestry from which I draw inspiration.
In the dance between the ordinary and the extraordinary, I find my muse. A patchwork of everyday life and the unexplored realm, my works synthesize the known and the unknown. The familiar whispers to the unfamiliar, and together they form a symphony that resonates through my creations.
As I navigate the intricate pathways of self-expression, I invite you to journey with me. Through my photographs and artistry, I strive to weave a narrative that mirrors the captivating duality of life itself. Join me as I capture the ephemeral, frame the transient, and freeze fragments of existence into visual stories that transcend the boundaries of time and space.
