BACKGROUND

The Abuja Photo Festival is thrilled to announce its call for submissions for our 9th annual exhibition, taking place from October 29 -31, 2025. We invite photographers from Nigeria and across the globe to explore and interpret our compelling theme: “A World Connected.” In an increasingly interconnected world, we are seeking powerful and evocative images that delve into the myriad ways we are linked – socially, culturally, environmentally, technologically, and emotionally. Your photographs should capture the essence of our shared humanity, the intricate webs of relationships that bind us, and the visible and invisible threads that connect diverse communities and experiences.

POSSIBLE INTERPRETATIONS OF THE THEME INCLUDE

  • Human Connections

    Images depicting relationships, community, family bonds, friendships, and shared experiences across cultures

  • Global Interdependence

    Photographs illustrating the interconnectedness of economies, environments, and societies.

  • Digital Connections

    Visual narratives exploring the impact of technology on communication and relationships.

  • Cultural Exchange

    Images showcasing the blending and sharing of traditions, ideas, and art forms.

  • Nature's Connections

    Photographs highlighting the delicate balance and interconnectedness within ecosystems and the natural world.

  • Overcoming Divides

    Stories of bridging gaps, fostering understanding, and building bridges between different groups.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

  • Eligibility

    The call is open to all photographers, regardless of nationality or experience level.

  • Number of Submissions

    Each photographer may submit a maximum of five (5) photographs.

  • Image Format

    All images must be submitted in JPEG format, high resolution (minimum 300 dpi), and no larger than 15MB per image.

  • Originality

    All submitted photographs must be your original works.

  • Rights

    By submitting, you grant the Abuja Photo Festival permission to use your images for promotional purposes related to the festival (e.g., website, social media, press releases). Copyright remains with the photographer.

  • Overcoming Divides

    Stories of bridging gaps, fostering understanding, and building bridges between different groups.
